Like the header says, it was deep set , about 10 mm but it’s still one step to the right direction and the first time the handles of this gripper touched using a set, not a choker. Calibrated poundage of this gripper is 197 lbs.

Tore the palm again. That’s today’s grip workout.
Palm tear on the right hand was still too tender for me to close anything harder than my 182 lbs Elite. I was afraid to tear the thin newly grown skin on it to really go for the max. I decided to work on wide set closes on the Vulcan instead, going up to L16 close and and good attempt with L17. Then I went back to L16 and microloaded with rubberbands until I reached a limit close. With the poor handle positioning of the wider set, L17 is tough.
I returned to my top MMS form with left hand, closing the 182 lbs Elite. 185 lbs #3.5 is still too tough for left hand, so I did plenty of BFN-work with that gripper. I did negs with the Vulcan as well for lefty.
Finished with plenty of Imtug-work for bottom two fingers and wrapped up the session with 1 kg shot rotations, palms down and palms up for multiple sets.
Good workout with left hand but I KNOW I could have done something good with my right hand as well if the palm was up to it today. If my left hand functions at it’s best, then the right should be good for something better at the same time. I will have to wait a few days to be able to max out. Makes me mad!
1. MMS
3 attempts on an easier #4
2. Choker-closes
3 x 1 x BBSE 197 lbs @ 19 mm, all closed but felt slow
1 x 1 x BBGE 203 lbs @ 20 mm, bad start, had to force in, held closed though
3. Ext. handle BB Pro negs
3 x 3 x BFN and a classic palm tear as a result. Cool! Might Super glue it together to be able to train hard enough day after tomorrow.
All the afore mentioned was with right hand only. I did a corresponding number of BFN’s on a hard #3.5 with left hand. Can’t hold that gripper closed, yet.
I would say gripper work is on the rise again, or so I assume. Finished with multiple sets of 1 kg shot rotations palms down.
1. BBSE 197 lbs, choker work
17 mm x 1 x 3 sec OC
19 mm x 2 x 3 sec OC
21 mm x 1
2. MMS attempt
197 lbs BBSE x 1 x 2 mm miss
3. EXT. handle filed BB Pro negs
-Right hand only, 3 singles, focus on the last 30 mm.
Getting faster = getting stronger = getting closer.
